James Kaye Coconut

Visual Design & Marketing Campaigns

Creating an album launch campaign for James Kaye: an artist, songwriter, and producer who has navigated every corner of the music industry.

The Final Result

I designed a cohesive album cover and concept for the launch of James Kaye’s debut EP – Coconut

Project Overview

I was tasked with translating James Kaye’s signature California-born sound into a visual identity that felt as effortless as the music itself. My goal was to create a design language that didn’t just sit on top of the music, but lived inside of it, ensuring the creative direction mirrored the intentionality of his debut solo EP, COCONUT.

The Partnership

Lead Design & Creative

The challenge lay in capturing the dual nature of James’s journey: a world-class producer and artist with high-profile industry experience who needed a debut solo project to feel grounded, authentic, and “sun-drenched.” The visual identity had to remain fluid enough to transition through the varying moods of the seven-track project, yet consistent enough to anchor the entire “COCONUT” lifestyle.

The Team

I collaborated directly with James, acting as the sole creative lead to ensure the vision remained cohesive. I maintained full ownership of the aesthetic evolution, from the initial concepting of the project’s visual anchor to the final execution of the promotional campaign.

The Methods

I crafted a visual anchor through original single covers and official EP artwork, then extended this design language into a full-scale rollout, including social media assets and custom merchandise, ensuring each piece served as a physical extension of the project’s sonic vibe.

The Result

A cohesive, multi-sensory rollout where the music and visuals breathe together. From digital covers to tangible merchandise, I successfully synthesized James’s industry history into a singular, authentic brand identity that turned a seven-song story into a total lifestyle experience.
